CDLI Meet Up

  • Nicholls Family Library 1413 33 Street Southwest Calgary, AB, T3C 1P2 Canada (map)

Meet Up Theme: Get Engaged! What does that mean?

Date & Time: Tuesday, September 24, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (doors open at 5:30)
Venue: Nicholls Family Library (1413 33 St. SW) inside the Westbrook LRT Station

Join us as we explore community engagement, and what that means in different community contexts. Special guests will share how they engage community in their own efforts, and you will have the opportunity to reflect and discuss with your peers what community engagement could look like for your own work.

Guests include:

Tyson Bankert, with The Energy Depot, will be sharing about his community action work on climate change.

Jamie Berlie, Supervisor Community Development at carya, will speak to how her team engages older adults to build elder friendly communities.

Kourtney Branagan, Board Chair of the Haysboro Community Association, discuss how their board works to engage community at the neighbourhood level.

Spend a few hours connecting with others who are passionate about building better communities, learning from their experiences while also sharing yours… and leave with new energy and ideas for your own community building efforts!

Children welcome – please get in touch with us a week in advance if child care is required.
